Welcome to EACR 20
Dear Colleagues
You are cordially invited to attend the 20th biennial meeting of EACR.
This conference is one of the most relevant cancer research meeting in Europe and will be held in Lyon, France on 5-8 July 2008.
The conference will provide a forum for basic, translational and clinical researchers, to discuss all areas of cancer research. Our effort will be to highlight the latest discoveries and trends across the fast moving entire spectrum of cancer research. Special emphasis will be made to ensure that the programme incorporates sessions for young cancer researchers.
For this occasion, I would like to invite you to the beautiful city of Lyon. It is a city founded as a Roman colony in 43BC by Munatius Plancus, a lieutenant of Cesar and some of its historical areas were designated UNESCO World Heritage sites in 1998.
Lyon’s geography is dominated by the Rhône and Saône rivers which converge to the south of historic city center. Lyon is the second largest French city and has a reputation as the French capital of gastronomy and a significant role in the history of cinema. All these features make Lyon an ideal setting for the conference.

Miscellaneous - Accreditation: an application for CME accreditation will be presented to the Accreditation Council of Oncology in Europe (ACOE)

- Insurance: the organiser does not accept responsibility for individual medical, travel or personal insurance. Participants are strongly advised to take out their own arrangements in respect of health and travel insurance.
- Language: the official language of the conference is English
- Passport and visa information: a valid passport and/or identity card is required for all participants. Visa may be required for some countries. For specific information, please contact the nearest French embassy at least six weeks before your departure to France.
