Nathwani Prize

The Nathwani Prize is awarded to an individual whose contribution and personal achievement reflects the efforts and vision that unite us all and acts as an inspiration in our continuous fight against breast cancer.

In 2005 at age 38, Dutch singer/songwriter Ellen ten Damme, was diagnosed with breast cancer. As a young woman with a busy successful career and a tremendous zest for life she did not let the diagnosis and treatment stop her. In spite of her illness she continued to perform and her versatility and resilience shine through in her work.

For this reason the EBCC Organising Committee is awarding her with the 2010 Nathwani Prize as an outstanding singer/songwriter and performer. Her exceptional talent and fortitude is apparent in the documentary film shot while she was being treated. The film is entitled: As I Was Wondering Where This Mixed-up Little Life of Mine Was Leading To.
