Hardware / software requirements

ECCO Education recommends version 6.x browsers or higher from Microsoft or Netscape. Certain educational activities may require additional software to view multimedia, presentation or printable versions of content. These activities will be marked as such and will provide links to the required software.

Minimum System Requirements:

Windows 98, 2000, XP or Vista

• Colour display with at least 800 by 600 pixel resolution
• Browser supported:
  Internet Explorer 6.0 (recommended), 7.0
  Netscape 8.1 or higher or Firefox 1.5
  Firefox 2
  Mozilla 1.7 or higher
• Vista supports Internet Explorer 7 and Firefox 2 browsers only
• Media Players:
  Microsoft Windows Media Player 9 or a more recent version,
  RealNetworks RealOne Player, RealOne 1.0 or 2.0 or RealPlayer 10
• Macromedia Flash: Flash Player 7 (for presentations that include Flash content)
• Sound card with appropriate driver
• JavaScript and cookies need to be enabled
• Recommend ActiveX be enabled for Internet Explorer
• 56K or faster Internet connection (preloading presentations may take longer)

Mac OS X 10.3, 10.4, 10.5 (PowerPC/Intel)

• Safari 1.3 (Mac OS 10.3)
• Safari 2.0 (Mac OS 10.4)
• Safari 3.0 (Mac OS 10.4,10.5)
• Firefox 2
• Requires Apple Java Runtime Environment
• JavaScript and cookies need to be enabled (JRE) 5.0 or higher
• No support for Remote Access
