Title: The next step in hepatic surgery of colorectal metastases

Presenter: Dr. K. Verhoef, MD., The Netherlands

Description:     Despite the recent advances in new systemic treatment strategies in patient with colorectal liver metastases (CRLM), partial liver resection remains the only potential for cure. Challenges in liver surgery for CRLM are to increase the resectability rate in a safe manner and good survival, by using multimodality treatment approaches. This overview will focus on the current surgical status in patients with CRLM and strategies to improve the resectability.

Objectives:

  • Update on the outcome after partial liver resection in patients CRLM.
  • Treatment strategies to increase the resectability rate in patients with CRLM.
