European Cancer Organisation

The Organisation of European Cancer Institutes (OECI)

The OECI is a non-government, non-profit organisation founded in Vienna in 1979 with the primary objectives to improve communication and to bring together the cancer research and care institutions of the European Union, in order to create a critical mass of expertise and competence.

These goals are achieved by promoting and strengthening the concept of Comprehensiveness supporting quality in cancer care also through a well-structured internal organisation. Although physicians, nurses and researchers, constitute the core of cancer care and research, a smooth organisation, efficient logistics and state of the art complex infrastructure, are needed to accelerate the production and application of personalised care approaches.
