Lina Cassol Fellowship Grant
The Lina Cassol Fellowship Grant was created by ECCO - the European CanCer Organisation in memory of the late Dr. Lina Cassol, graduate of the 9th Flims Workshop (23-29 June2007), who lost her life in the Brazilian TAM flight 3054 crash on 17 July 2007.
Dr. Cassol was highly regarded by the Faculty and her fellow students and made an outstanding contribution to the Workshop. She successfully completed her protocol entitled: “Phase I study of capecitabine plus vandetanib (ZD 6474) followed by a randomized phase II study of capecitabine plus vandetanib versus capecitabine alone in patients with advanced triple-negative breast cancer previously treated with an anthracycline and a taxane” within the set time limits.
The Lina Cassol Fellowship Grant is awarded each year by ECCO to a selected Brazilian student with the highest score in the application review process as a tribute to Dr. Lina Cassol’s dedication to Medical Oncology and commitment to Clinical Research.
