ECCO ENDORSED EVENT: The European Cardio-Oncology Symposium (ECOS) 2019

The European Cardio-Oncology Symposium (ECOS) 2019 meeting is an innovative 2-day continuing medical education (CME) event held 18 – 19 October 2019 in Barcelona, Spain. ECOS 2019 brings together worldwide experts in oncology and cardiology to share best practices in managing the cardiovascular needs of patients with cancer, including the cardiotoxicity of chemotherapy, radiation therapy, immunotherapy and other anticancer modalities. As the first cardio-oncology CME event in Europe, the meeting is designed for cardiologists, clinical oncologists, radiation oncologists, specialist nurses, pharmacists and other professionals involved in managing patients with cancer.

The meeting programme offers innovative session formats to engage learners with the latest research and evidence-based care strategies. This includes two live immuno-oncology webcasts, where expert faculty will lead multidisciplinary case-based panel discussions on:

In addition to the main programme, ECOS is hosting a pre-conference workshop on Thursday 17 October 2019 (14:00 – 17:30) focusing on multi-modal cardiovascular imaging in patients with cancer.

This includes a live webcast and hands-on workshop with practice sessions on both strain and 4D echo datasets. 

On Saturday 19 October 2019 (15:15 – 17:30), ECOS is also hosting the ECOS – Spanish Society of Cardiology (SEC) 2019 Joint Session. Speakers from both the ECOS and SEC 2019 meetings will review the highlights of each meeting, and discuss the evolution of cardio-oncology, imaging guidelines, and the CardioTox and SURVIVE registries.
